About

Right to Know GMO Mississippi is a member of the Coalition of States for GMO Labeling. GMO stands for genetically modified organisms and this means something to you if you like to eat food or if you have  the care of animals. 80 % of all processed food in the United States is genetically modified but it is not required to put this on the food labels with the other ingredients like salt, sugar, calories.

Project

Our goal is to realize a GMO Labeling requirement, in the list of ingredients of foods and feed sold in Mississippi, registered in the Mississippi Code.

Get Involved

Call your local Senators and Representatives and ask them to sponsor the model bill for GMO Labeling legislation in 2014 Session.

                         March Against Monsanto

Governments around the world said that no studies have been done on the safety of what GMOs will do to the food supply of our consumers, therefore, in order to prevent the onset of any disease that may result from their use, we will not allow them in our country; the U.S. took a different approach, saying in effect, GMOs haven't been proven harmful, so we will allow their use..

Activists from all over the state joined in the March from the Farmer's Market to  the state Capitol in

Jackson, Mississippi..

ACTION ALERT

Contact U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran (R.MS) and ask him to stop the deregulation of the GMO industry from court oversight.

“Historians may look back and write about how willing we are to sacrifice our children and jeopardize future generations with a massive experiment that is based on false promises and flawed science just to benefit the bottom line of a commercial enterprise.” So said Don Huber in referring to the use of glyphosate and genetically modified crops.
